How to change your address on USPS Mail Forwarding

Moving? USPS Mail Forwarding still has your old address until you tell it otherwise. Here’s the fastest path.

The short version

  1. Sign in to your USPS Mail Forwarding account — the address settings live here: https://moversguide.usps.com/. You may need to re-verify with a code.
  2. Find the profile / contact / address section and replace your old address with the new one. Watch for separate mailing vs billing addresses — update both.
  3. Save, then check the confirmation. Some services email a security notice; that’s normal.

Worth knowing for government accounts

  • Government records are the highest-stakes updates: your driver’s license, vehicle registration, tax refunds, and benefits all route to the address on file.
  • Most agencies require the update within 10–30 days of moving — sooner is safer.
USPS Mail Forwarding is one account. The average mover has 15–40 more —Movepost finds yours from your email (headers only, it can’t read your messages), opens each site, and autofills your new address while you check them off.Find my accounts free →
