How to change your address on MOHELA

Steps

  1. Sign in to your MOHELA account at https://www.mohela.com/ using your username and password.
  2. Open the account profile section by going to the 'Update contact information' page (https://www.mohela.com/DL/secure/borrower/profile.aspx).
  3. Edit your mailing address and other contact details, then save your changes.
  4. While there, confirm your correspondence and notification preferences so mail and alerts reach the correct place.

One MOHELA gotcha. MOHELA keeps address changes behind login in the profile page; if you have loans serviced elsewhere or through the Department of Education, updating MOHELA alone may not sync your address with StudentAid.gov, so update both.

Worth knowing for loans & mortgages accounts

  • Loan servicers mail statements, escrow analyses, and tax forms (1098/1098-E) to the address on file. Stale mail here can hide a missed payment.
  • If you sold the old home, update the servicer even after payoff: final escrow refunds usually arrive as paper checks.
