How to change your address on Navy Federal Credit Union

To change your address on Navy Federal Credit Union: sign in, open the address settings page linked below, replace your old mailing (and billing) address, and save. It takes about five minutes once you’re signed in.

The short version

Go straight to the address settings: https://www.navyfederal.org/

  1. Complete the Change of Information form (form 97CI), filling in Section A with your current details and only the changed fields in Section B — for an address change, enter your new home address (no P.O. boxes allowed) and a mailing address if it differs. Use black ink.
  2. Sign and date the required signature and tax certification section on the form.
  3. Submit the completed form using one of NFCU's channels: fax it to 703-206-4600 (ATTN: Membership Administration), mail it to Navy Federal Credit Union, PO Box 3002, Merrifield, VA 22116-9887, upload it through the Online Banking Message Center, or bring it to a branch.
  4. If submitting online, sign in to Online Banking, open the Message Center, choose the 'General' question category, attach the completed 97CI form, and send it.

One Navy Federal Credit Union gotcha: Your home address on file cannot be a P.O. Box — only the separate mailing address field may use one. Also note the online submission path routes through a 'General' question in the Message Center rather than a dedicated address-change screen.

Worth knowing for banking accounts

  • Banks mail replacement cards, statements, and fraud alerts — an old address here is a real security risk, not just an inconvenience.
  • Update the mailing address on each account, and check that paperless settings didn’t hide an old physical address.
