How to change your address on State Farm

To change your address on State Farm: sign in, open the address settings page linked below, replace your old mailing (and billing) address, and save. It takes about five minutes once you’re signed in.

The short version

Go straight to the address settings: https://www.statefarm.com/customer-care/manage-your-accounts

  1. Sign in and go to Manage your accounts → Profile → contact information.
  2. Update your address, or message your agent to do it.
  3. Ask whether your policy needs to be rewritten for the new location.

One State Farm gotcha: A move can change coverage and price — homeowners/renters policies usually have to be rewritten for the new address, not just edited.

Worth knowing for insurance accounts

  • Your address is part of how insurers price your policy — auto and renters premiums change by ZIP code, and a stale address can jeopardize a claim.
  • Update before you need to file anything: claims adjusters check that the address matches the policy.
