How to change your address on E*TRADE

To change your address on E*TRADE: sign in, open the address settings page linked below, replace your old mailing (and billing) address, and save. It takes about five minutes once you’re signed in.

The short version

Go straight to the address settings: https://us.etrade.com/

  1. Sign in to your E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley account at etrade.com.
  2. Go to Customer Service or open the My Profile page under the Accounts menu.
  3. Locate your address on file and enter your new residential/mailing address.
  4. Save the update and confirm the change was applied to your account.

One E*TRADE gotcha: Keeping your address current matters beyond mail delivery: if your account goes dormant and E*TRADE can't reach you, state escheatment laws may require abandoned assets to be turned over to your state after three to five years of inactivity.
