How to change your address on Fidelity
Sign in to Fidelity, open the profile or contact section, replace your mailing address and save.
Steps
- Sign in and go to Profile → Personal information → Address.
- Update your mailing address and save.
- Do this a few days before you need to move money.
One Fidelity gotcha. A new address can trigger a short protective hold on wires, EFTs, and check requests. Plan around it, and don’t change it mid-transfer.

Worth knowing for investing accounts
- Brokerages mail tax documents (1099s) to the address on file. A stale address means missing tax season paperwork.
- Some address changes at brokerages trigger a short hold on outgoing transfers; do this early, not during a trade.
