How to change your address on Fidelity

To change your address on Fidelity: sign in, open the address settings page linked below, replace your old mailing (and billing) address, and save. It takes about five minutes once you’re signed in.

The short version

Go straight to the address settings: https://digital.fidelity.com/ftgw/digital/profile/personal-info

  1. Sign in and go to Profile → Personal information → Address.
  2. Update your mailing address and save.
  3. Do this a few days before you need to move money.

One Fidelity gotcha: A new address can trigger a short protective hold on wires, EFTs, and check requests — plan around it, don’t change it mid-transfer.

Worth knowing for investing accounts

  • Brokerages mail tax documents (1099s) to the address on file — a stale address means missing tax season paperwork.
  • Some address changes at brokerages trigger a short hold on outgoing transfers; do this early, not during a trade.
