How to change your address on Vanguard
To change your address on Vanguard: sign in, open the address settings page linked below, replace your old mailing (and billing) address, and save. It takes about five minutes once you’re signed in.
The short version
Go straight to the address settings: https://personal1.vanguard.com/mnt-myprofile/address
- Sign in and open My profile → Address.
- Enter your new address and save.
- Confirm your paperless/tax-document delivery settings.
One Vanguard gotcha: Your 1099 tax forms mail to the address on file — update before year-end so tax season paperwork reaches you.
Steps last generated August 19, 2026. Confirm onVanguard’s own site — forms and menus change.
Worth knowing for investing accounts
- Brokerages mail tax documents (1099s) to the address on file — a stale address means missing tax season paperwork.
- Some address changes at brokerages trigger a short hold on outgoing transfers; do this early, not during a trade.
