How to change your address on Dominion Energy
To change your address on Dominion Energy: sign in, open the address settings page linked below, replace your old mailing (and billing) address, and save. It takes about five minutes once you’re signed in.
The short version
Go straight to the address settings: https://www.dominionenergy.com/
- Sign in to your Dominion Energy online account (or register for one if you're a new customer) before your move date
- Use the Transfer Service tool to schedule a stop of service at your old address and a start of service at your new one in a single request
- Confirm the meter at your new residence is reachable — clear away fences, plants, or obstructions so a technician can access it
- Ahead of the connection date, switch off major appliances and set all circuit breakers (or unscrew fuses) to off, since Dominion may require this before turning your power on
One Dominion Energy gotcha: Business accounts can't be transferred online — you must call 866-366-4357 (or 001-757-857-2112 from outside the US) — and residential transfers also carry a $5.70 connection charge that shows up on your next bill.

Worth knowing for utilities accounts
- Utilities usually need a stop-service date at the old address and a start-service date at the new one — it’s two orders, not one edit.
- Book this a week or two ahead; same-day starts often aren’t available.
