How to change your address on Xcel Energy

To change your address on Xcel Energy: sign in, open the address settings page linked below, replace your old mailing (and billing) address, and save. It takes about five minutes once you’re signed in.

  1. Have your Xcel Energy account information ready, including your account number and the new billing address you want on file.
  2. Call Xcel Energy customer service at 800-895-4999 to reach a representative.
  3. Ask the representative to update the billing address on your account; they can process the change during the call.
  4. Confirm the updated address with the representative before ending the call.

One Xcel Energy gotcha: Xcel Energy does not appear to offer a self-service online form for this in the source article — billing address changes are handled by phone through their customer contact line. Also note that a billing address is different from a service address, so specify which one you mean.
